HOW DO I BID ON ITEMS?

FairBid Auctions can be won in three different ways:

Bid Exactly allows you to place a one-time bid of a definite amount. You will receive an email if another user outbids you for that item. At that time, you can log back into the website and choose to enter a higher bid. E-mail notifications will not be sent for the last hour of the auction.

Auto Bid gives FairBid permission to automatically increase your bid when someone outbids you, up to your maximum bid amount. Auto Bid saves you time and effort by doing the bidding war work for you.

Incremental Bid Amounts:

Sales Price --- Minimum Bid Increase

$.01 - $1,000 --- $100

$1,001 to $50,000 --- $250

$50,001 and up $100 --- $1,000

Buy it Now allows you to purchase the auctioned item for a predetermined set price. Not all auctions will have Buy it Now options, but if available it does it offer an immediate transaction.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY BIDS?

Once you locate items of interest, you can start bidding or add them to your watch list. Your watch list is accessible through your "My Profile" section once you have registered and logged in to FairBid.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM OUTBID?

You will receive an email if another user outbids you for a certain item.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I'VE WON AN AUCTION?

At the close of an auction, the highest bidder and the Seller will receive an email with each other's contact details. The Buyer and the Seller should then contact each other to arrange payment and pickup of the auctioned item based on the preset time frames and payment options outlined on the bid details page.

IF I WIN AN ITEM, HOW DO I PAY FAIRBID?

Once you have won an item on FairBid, you will notified that you are the high bidder and sent a payment request. You will have 3 business days to process payment via ACH Credit, Wire Transfer, or Cashiers Check.

CAN I BUY ITEMS BEFORE THE AUCTION?

Buy it Now allows you to purchase the auctioned item for a predetermined set price. Not all auctions will have a Buy it Now option since it is up to the sellers discretion.

IS THERE A PENALTY IF I DON'T MAKE MY PAYMENT ON TIME?

If you fail to make any payments due to seller or FairBid, whether for default or otherwise, you will be barred from further use of the FairBid Site.

HOW DO I SELL MY ITEMS?

Once you have logged into your account, new auctions can be created by clicking on the "Post New Auction" link in the upper right corner of the site. Sellers can then enter auctions details and upload pictures directly onto the website. After submitting your auctions, a Fairbid representative will review your auction and send you a confirmation email when the auction is approved and posted.

CAN I SET A RESERVE PRICE?

When you post a new auction, the website will allow you to customize your auction. On that page, you can set a reserve price.

WHAT IS AN "AUCTION SELLER AGREEMENT?"

The "Auction Seller Agreement" is the contract you agree to adhere to when you post a new auction. Failure to adhere to the agreement will result in banishment from FairBid.

WHO CAN ANSWER QUESTIONS I HAVE ABOUT AN AUCTION?

If you forget your password, you can click on the “forgot password?” link in the upper right side of the page. This will direct you to a new page that will send you a new password.

HOW DO I EDIT MY FAIRBID PROFILE?

After you log in, you can find the edit profile link on the top-right hand of the homepage. You can also access the edit profile link on the right side of any auction page.

WHAT ARE AUCTION ALERTS?

When you edit your profile, you can customize auction alerts that will email you when a new item pops up that you mentioned you were interested in.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE IF THE MERCHANDISE IS NOT IN THE CONDITION STATED?

The seller is responsible in any case of misrepresented items.

FairBid Plus acts as your agent and can handle all relevant aspects of the auction process for you.

FairBid Plus can do it all, from the taking of the pictures, hiring of an inspector, posting of an auction and the marketing of that auction, through processing of the payments, to finally the picking up of the equipment. Additional fees will apply for these services. In certain circumstances, these fees can be waived.

WHAT ARE THE SELLER'S FEES ON FAIRBID PLUS?

Our FairBid Plus option charges the seller a negotiated rate of the total transaction: small charge for a world of service.
